Best Isakai Anime to Watch With Overpowered Main Character
Another fresh batch of hot and spicy Isekai anime is here for you my fellow weebs. We will be looking at my top 10 Isekai anime to watch with overpowered main characters. It’s not your run-of-the-mill list filled with generic titles as your favorite. Do know that this is not a ranking list so the anime is not in any particular order.
10: Combatants Will Be Dispatched
This is an anime adaptation of a light novel written by the same person who wrote the masterpiece that is Konosuba. Need I say more !? You can expect deeply flawed yet lovable characters, a great Isekai setting, and non-stop fun courtesy of the hilarious antics of the characters. In the anime, Kisaragi is a comically evil corporation that has conquered the whole earth. Due to their quest to conquer the entire universe, they have created a teleporter to other worlds with their advanced technology. Agent 6 is sent on a mission to infiltrate the kingdom of Grace. He is an OG member of this evil organization and a pervert similar to Kazuma. My man is paired with a high spec android named Alice. She is essentially an adorable anime loli… with a shotgun. If hearing that doesn’t get you interested, I don’t know what will.
9: I Have Spent 300 Years of My Life Killing Slimes
Aizawa is a cute anime office girl who died because of overworking. This isn’t an anime thing; death by overwork is a real problem in this world of corporate cruelty, Google it! Well, back to the topic. Aizawa is now reincarnated as an immortal witch in a fantasy world. Instead of going on a grand adventure to slay the demon lord like it’s usually the case, Aizawa decides to chill out in her new life and slays only 25 weak slime monsters every day. 300 years pass, and she maxes out her level. People find out, and now her quiet life in solitude is ruined. Later, she befriends two other precious anime cuties making life awesome again. One of them is a dragon and the other is an elf. We have cute anime girls doing cute anime girl things.
8: Problem Children Are Coming From Another World, Aren’t They?
It’s been a while since this anime was released. But I will include it because you younglings don’t know much about this one. It follows the story of three problematic children – one guy and two girls with insane psychic powers. They are always bored until a rabbit summons them to the land of Little Garden, where one must win the gift games to achieve a better reputation for their assigned community. Our trio joins a community called ‘No Name’ to help them out with their problems.
7: How Not To Summon A Demon Lord
How could I not include a good old Ecchi anime on this list? This one is for all of you cultured folk out there who are hungry for some of that … … ‘Ara-Ara’ action, if you know what I mean. I know that it’s a trash harem power fantasy but it’s much better than other trash out there. A demon lord is summoned by two girls named Rem and Shera. The girls wanted to enslave him, but the spell rebounded and they are his slaves now. We have an MC who is an overpowered demon lord and watching him will satisfy your itch to see an insanely strong dude wreaking havoc on all of his opponents.
6: So I’m A Spider, So What?
If you liked the anime ‘That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime’ then you are going to love this! Let’s get the obvious stuff out of the way. The main character used to be a cute introverted anime girl but is now reincarnated as a spider with her whole class. If this was released a couple of years ago, it would have been pretty shocking. But we anime fans are pretty much desensitized to this Isekai insanity. The thing I loved the most about this one was the writing. It’s not another one of your shallow, generic Isekai cash grabs. The world and its RPG elements are pretty well thought out. World-building is in the same league as the most highly regarded Isekai. This anime genuinely strives to be different and it succeeds. There are some CGI effects but honestly, the other aspects more than make up for it. The fights are one of a kind as the monsters don’t beat around the bush. They get straight into the action.
5: How A Realist Hero Rebuilt The Kingdom
It’s an Isekai where the main character, Kazuya Souma becomes a king instead of your typical hero. Being a king. Soma has administrative duties and he uses his big brain to bring economical reform and prosperity with modern methods of government. So basically, an analytical and factual guy comes to modernize a civilization. You can see how this is similar to Dr. Stone but on a way bigger scale.
4: The Saints Magic Power Is Omnipotent
Here we have another refreshing take on this genre. Featuring a female protagonist, the anime is a perfect mix of shoujo and shonen that has gone unnoticed by many fans. Maybe because the anime is not full of action but a character can be OP in more ways than one. In this Isekai world, the people wanted to summon a saint. But they accidentally summoned two girls – the main character, Sei, and someone else. Sadly, they declare the other girl as a saint. Sei just hangs around until she flexes her big brain when developing potions until everybody starts taking note of her abilities.
3 – Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy
Makoto Misumi is summoned to a fantasy world by a Goddess. The original intention was to make him a brave warrior but after seeing Makoto, the Goddess decides to punish him. The Goddess sends Makoto to the wilderness in the outskirts which is inhabited by strong monsters. But what was he punished for exactly, you ask? It was for the biggest cardinal sin of all – simply being ugly.
2: Jobless Reincarnation
This is the granddaddy of all Isekai anime and it’s the most realistic one of them all. The main character, Rudeus is not some devilishly handsome dude who happens to be lonely. Instead, the MC is a middle-aged dirty perverted neet who was given a second chance at life. And he respects his second chance, although this happens slowly and gradually as he turns into a decent human being. He is intelligent, he is strong, but he struggles with more relatable things like social anxiety.
1: The Misfit of Demon King Academy
Take the powers of an overpowered main character, multiply that by a million, and there you have Anos, the protagonist of this anime. That’s not even an exaggeration, as Anos is a demon lord that has been reincarnated and his powers give a new meaning to the word overpowered. Let me give you an idea of his OPness. In the first episode, he kills a guy using only his heartbeat. But that’s not all. He then proceeds to bring him back to life, only to kill him again and this murder cycle continues…
So, are there any anime that I missed? Let me know in the comments down below. Do note that I have purposely excluded the popular ones since everyone has already watched them. I deal in all kinds of anime stuff. So goodbye for now and I’ll see you next time.
